Currency

Currency is issued in notes of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000 and 5,000 dinars. Coins in circulation have a face value of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 dinars. It is possible to change money on the spot. You can find Automatic Teller Machines (ATM) all crose Serbia. It is legally forbidden to pay in foreign currency, but in practice some shops take euros. The Serbian dinar is available outside the Serbian borders but not everywhere. There is no exchange control in Serbia. The legal tender is the dinar. It floats freely but the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) manages to maintain the stability of the currency, which is in practice tied to the euro.

Business hours

Food shops : 06h00-21h00 in the week and on Saturday, 08h00-14h00 on Sunday.
Administration : 08h00-16h00 every day of the week.
Banks : 08h00-19h00 in the week, 08h00-15h00 on Saturday.
